You’ve been working hard in your rehab program to rebuild your strength. However, you feel like you aren’t making progress. Your steps are shaky or uncoordinated, and you struggle with smooth movement.
If this resonates, you may be overlooking a key piece of your recovery puzzle: stability.
It’s true that we often focus on strength as the key to restoring function. And while it certainly plays a significant role in creating force, recovery often requires control as well.
At NeuFit HQ, we often see this pattern. People arrive at our clinic focused on building strength. What they discover is that restoring stability can be the missing link to better function and greater confidence.

Meet Katie Davies:
Bringing Electric Massage Therapy to NeuFit HQ

Why Heat Changes the Way the Body Performs
Exercise naturally increases body temperature, which is why you sweat during a workout: your body is cooling itself by shifting blood flow toward the skin. This process is normal, but it does demand extra energy. When temperatures are already high, your body requires even more energy to stay cool, which puts additional stress on the nervous system.
For people whose nervous system already struggles to keep up with the cooling demands of physical activity, high temperatures just make things harder. This is particularly true for people with neurological conditions, whose symptoms may temporarily worsen in the heat because nerve signals that travel from your brain to your muscles can slow as body temperature rises.
That said, this doesn’t mean you should avoid activity altogether. Instead, you just need training strategies that match how your nervous system responds to stress. And that’s where our team comes in.
The Benefits of Our Neurofirst Approach
We focus on improving communication between the brain, nerves, and muscles. Instead of forcing the body through movement patterns that increase strain, we help the nervous system work more efficiently.
By combining personalized movement training with advanced neuromuscular stimulation, our team will identify areas of neurological dysfunction and support improved muscle recruitment during exercise.
Our goal is to help you better tolerate activity as your movements become more efficient and less draining–which is especially important during hot Texas summers.
The Limits of Strength Without Stability
Imagine a car with a powerful engine but poor steering. The engine can generate plenty of force, but controlling that force is incredibly difficult, and you may find yourself wanting to avoid driving altogether.
The body works in a similar way. You might have strong muscles, but if the nervous system cannot accurately coordinate them, your movement may remain inefficient or unpredictable. This issue often develops after neurological injuries or as part of a condition that affects communication between the brain and body.
How A Neuro-First Approach Helps Restore Stability
Every movement you make is controlled by signals traveling between your brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. When those signals become disrupted, your body may struggle to maintain stability even if the muscles themselves are capable of producing force.
That’s why our approach focuses on improving communication throughout the nervous system. With a range of advanced neurological rehabilitation strategies, the NeuFit HQ can help you retrain movement patterns and restore more efficient control.

How Do We Do It?
Direct Current Electrical Stimulation
We utilize specialized direct current technology designed to send targeted signals to the muscles during active movement. When combined with exercise, this neuromuscular stimulation helps optimize muscle recruitment, improve movement quality, and support overall coordination.
Neuromuscular Re-Education
Neuromuscular re-education helps the brain and body reconnect by practicing specific movements. During these exercises, the nervous system learns how to activate muscles more effectively and coordinate movement with greater precision. This can help improve balance, walking mechanics, and overall coordination.
Balance and Proprioception Training
Proprioception is your body’s awareness of where it is in space. After injury or neurological change, this awareness can become less accurate, increasing your risk of falling. Targeted balance exercises help retrain these systems by challenging the body to adapt, respond, and maintain control in different positions and environments.
Functional Movement Training
The nervous system learns best through repetition of meaningful activities, which is why we often focus on everyday movements during rehabilitation. For example, we’ll help you practice skills like standing up from a chair, climbing stairs, or changing direction. Practicing these tasks helps build stability that transfers directly into daily life.
Take the First Step Toward Better Movement
As your stability improves, everyday activities often become easier. After working on their stability, many of our patients report that they have an easier time completing daily tasks and aren’t as worried about falling. That can have a big impact on quality of life!
If you’re building strength but still struggling with balance or coordination, reach out to the team at NeuFit HQ. We utilize a neuromuscular-focused approach to bridge the gap between strength and stability to support efficient, confident movement.

One-Size-Fits-All Doesn’t Work for Everyone
Most group classes follow a generic format: push hard, sweat a lot, and hope for results. But if your nervous system isn’t fully engaged-or if your body is compensating-the wrong patterns get reinforced. That’s when strain, plateaus, and injuries show up.
Our approach is different. We use targeted strategies to make sure you’re activating the right muscles, using efficient movement patterns, and training with intention. With the NeuFit Method, we build stronger, faster, and safer results by starting with the nervous system-not just sets and reps.
Signs You Could Benefit from Smarter Group Training
If any of these sound familiar, our group classes may be exactly what you need:
- Repeating workouts with little progress
- Chronic tightness or soreness after class
- Trouble activating certain muscles during exercise
- Decreased motivation or energy when working out alone

Recipe of the Month
Chicken Pasta Primavera
This Chicken Pasta Primavera recipe comes together in just 30 minutes and is packed with tender chicken, fresh veggies, and a delicious cream sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tsp dried oregano, divided
- 1 tsp salt, divided
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper, divided
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 8 oz. dry pasta
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
- 1 zucchini, sliced and halved
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup frozen peas
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the chicken. Place both chicken breasts on a cutting board, cover them with plastic wrap or parchment paper, then use a rolling pin or the flat side of a meat tenderizer to gently pound the thicker side of the chicken breast until the entire breast is an even thickness from one end to the other (about 1/2 inch thick).
Step 2: Season and cook the chicken. Mix the seasoning together in a small bowl (½ tsp oregano, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp garlic powder, and ¼ tsp black pepper). Season the chicken breasts on both sides with the seasoning. Heat a large deep skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once the skillet is hot, cook the chicken breasts on both sides until cooked through and the internal temperature is 165°F.
Step 3: Cook the pasta. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain the pasta in a colander and set it to the side.
Step 4: Sauté the veggies. Once the chicken is cooked, remove the chicken to a separate plate and cover with foil to keep warm. In the same skillet add the butter and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds. Now add the sliced tomatoes and zucchini. Sauté the veggies for 2 minutes.
Step 5: Create the sauce. Next add in the rest of the seasoning (½ tsp oregano, ½ tsp salt, ¼ tsp black pepper). Then pour in the chicken broth. Stir everything together and cook for 1-2 minutes. Now add in the parmesan cheese and heavy cream. Stir together to combine.
Step 6: Combine and serve. Then add in the frozen peas and cooked pasta. Stir everything together and continue to cook for 1-2 more minutes, then turn the heat off. Slice the cooked chicken breasts on a cutting board and serve on top of the pasta primavera. Garnish with more parmesan cheese and fresh parsley (optional). Enjoy!
